Site Readiness Protocol & Installation Terms
The following conditions must be met prior to the arrival of the installation crew and crane. Failure to meet these requirements may result in rescheduling and additional mobilization fees.
- Minimum On-Site Requirements
- Four-Hour Minimum: A minimum charge of four (4) hours applies to all scheduled installations for both crane and crew.
- Standby Rates: If the crew is delayed due to site conditions not meeting this protocol, standby time will be billed at $125/hour per Ironworker $185/hour for Boom truck.
- Site Supervisor Presence: A qualified site supervisor must be present upon arrival to sign off on the safety plan and work area.
- Foundation & Structural Readiness
- Concrete Cure Time: Foundations must be cured for a minimum of 28 days prior to installation. A copy of the break tests or a signed waiver from the project engineer must be provided upon request.
- Anchor Bolt Accuracy: All anchor bolts must be set using a template. Tolerance is strictly ±/-1/4″ from the centerline. If bolts are out of tolerance, the client is responsible for all remedial work before the crew begins.
- Access & Logistics
- Crane Pad & Access Roads: Access roads must be clear, graded, and capable of supporting the Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of the crane and transport trailers.
- Staging Area: A level, compacted staging area must be provided adjacent to the foundation for the unloading of materials and crane setup.
- Overhead Clearance: The client must ensure the work zone is clear of overhead power lines or obstructions. Minimum clearances per OSHA/local regulations must be maintained.
- Environmental & Safety Conditions
- Weather Window: Installations require a dry weather window. If precipitation is forecasted or occurs during the scheduled erection, Norweld Ltd. reserves the right to postpone to ensure crew safety and structural integrity.
- Wind Speed Limits: Erection will be suspended if sustained winds or gusts exceed [e.g., 20 mph / 32 kph], depending on the specific crane and load requirements.
- Site Safety: The work zone must be cordoned off from other trades. No unauthorized personnel are permitted within the crane’s swing radius.
- Client Confirmations (The “Pre-Flight” Checklist)
48 hours prior to the scheduled delivery, the client must provide:
- Photo verification of the foundation and clear access path.
- GPS coordinates or a marked site map for the crane setup location.
- Signed confirmation that all anchor bolts have been verified against the template.
